Unreserved Holiness

There is an unreserved holiness that only brings wisdom and praise out from the innermost soul and from everyone around you. It is not only a destination; it is the light brought about by the scepter of Christ!

1. The search for the complete gospel that has already found me

You can refer back to my previous year 2008 blog where I wrote about bible verses that impacted my life:

I remember I was searching for the verses that illuminated St Augustine so that he was converted. I heard from my senior pastor Rev Leechull spoke about the bible verses that influenced St Augustine to conversion. At that time, the orientation of the church pulpit message kept on consoling the congregation, and gave me the impression that to accuse people would be the last thing God desires. i.e. how can these verses fit into a person’s life so as to make a person convert? Are not the verses below a result of conversion (born again) rather than something that converts (makes one born again)? Therefore, I could not fully understand why the following verses actually caused St Augustine (the way I interpret – the start of Christian theology that accords to his own experience, i.e. he wrote “The Confessions”) into conversion. Therefore, I did not list the verse down in my previous year 2008 blog. The following verses were what happened when he was prompted by a childlike voice, and took it as a divine command to open the Bible and read the first thing he saw:

Romans 13:13-14
13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and
make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

God changed him then at 32 years old through his mother Monica’s prayers of despair but continual hope since young.

Even though I cannot fully understand why the verses nailed St Augustine’s conversion, I kept the above verses deep into my heart. I just cannot forget them as they are from the bible. I cannot twist what I read from the bible to fit my own theology or what I, if my weak mind, has heard.

Along with the above verses, I remember

Psalm 19
1 The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
2 Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.

8 the precepts of the Lord are right,
rejoicing the heart;
the commandment of the Lord is pure,
enlightening the eyes;

12 Who can discern his errors?
Declare me innocent from hidden faults.

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in your sight,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

For all these years, I realized one thing is absolutely true – the Lord is Holy and His glory is such that I must never show consideration for my weaknesses so that I worship God with compromise. Your weaknesses may come from the conditions and fields God has given you. But those are not for you to compromise God’s greater power through you to open the doors of evangelism. Those weaknesses are placed not for you to show consideration to (as if God loves you so that He will forgo every weaknesses as His favored child of God) so that you can live a more carefree life less of guilt or reproach from God. (If you hear no grief of the Holy Spirit, you either already have your conscience of faith tainted or that you are not born again.) Those weaknesses are placed for you to understand your spiritual calling, to be willing to suffer everything and to go to your end to face God in prayers, so as to attain Christ’s resurrection in getting practical wisdom.

2. Not to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but fulfill them

The 36 lessons are not an end to your conversion, or the experience of the “second” born again. They are a guide, and only a guide. They guide you to live unreserved from the Lord, to the Lord, and in the Lord.

If you really want to evangelize to the unreached, the young that is out of your generation, or a culture that is far beyond yours, you must really know how much you must suffer in the Lord to hold on to God’s promise. Do you value the gospel and the promise of gospelization more than anything else so that you test and approve the things you must do in your work place? When you test and approve, one must know what the absolute conditions are and what the relative conditions are. i.e. when you are at your work place, the relative conditions are about doing your best at your office work. The absolute truth is that you cannot be a slave because you have a gospel too important to compromise. When I face the Lord with even my closest ones worrying for me, I realized I had to do it my way – the way the Lord has shown to me. There is a peace in me that I am not disobeying the people around me, but a peace that God will bring me through, and God will definitely bless the people and company many folds through my obedience. It produces some anxiousness, but I slowly confirmed that those anxiousness are as a result of Satan’s attack as I obey the Lord my God.

If you find it hard to live in your workplace, then make it a point to have a church-centered and brethren-centered lifestyle. Then your perspectives can be build on solid ground and you will not waver like a ship among waves. You might be disobeying the earthly authorities if you keep on having a pulpit-centered, brethren-centered and serving-centered lifestyle, but be sure that if you follow the Lord this way, the Lord will not only deliver you out of it, but the Lord will give you your heart’s desire in the gospel promise of God.

This, in a word, means “unreserved holiness” in all things 24 hours, a point made to focus there and go towards there.

Matthew 5:48
48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

“Unreserved holiness” created in me a new heart. There is a New Creation. That new creation is not by grace that has been made cheap, but by death and resurrection – grace that is made sovereign, and glory that makes every word in the bible alive in you.

3. Praising in the Gospel vs Conscience-Pricking in Religion

The greatest difference between gospel and religion are two folds:
– The gospel is that God has already found you unconditionally, and religion is that you need to keep on trying to find God.
– The gospel is that you can live in unreserved holiness that surpasses every law, but religion from man can never perform this miracle.

An unconditional love may have started to produce unreserved holiness, but a person is transformed when he is trained to go into a total willingness to produce unconditional appreciation for unconditional love of God gives praise from the innermost soul.

Do you notice how the Christian faith differs from all other religions? We praise God! Religions that rely only on the conscience will ponder why their gods need praises from men. (If they praise their gods, their gods will be embarrassed because their gods rely on conscience to help the earthly people.) Do we praise God out of a conscious debt of His love? Frankly speaking, no. God is not a judge who checks if He can impute to us His judgments, for He chose to impute all on His Son Jesus Christ already. We praise the God of Yahweh because we find Him awesomely amazing many times, and we especially find Him awesome because He is steadfast and faithful to us all the time. You would not praise a friend who helps out as a friend in need, but you will praise your own father who has always been so awesome and steadfast by your side, who will make sure you walk right, and who will even give his life for your true happiness.

Psalm 108:1
1 My heart is steadfast, O God!
I will sing and make melody with all my being!

Psalm 109:30-31
30 With my mouth I will give great thanks to the Lord;
I will praise him in the midst of the throng.
31 For he stands at the right hand of the needy one,
to save him from those who condemn his soul to death.

The child of God does not praise God only because he finds the Lord awesome. He only desires to find praise to God.

Sometimes, he may be unconvinced to obey God’s word. However, if he is born again to seek the unconditional love and unreserved holiness of God, you can be rest assured that he will never be at peace unless he submits with an unreserved love to God.

Therefore, pastors, elders, deacons, small group leaders and coworkers, you must teach the sheep how to praise God. Keep your focus right there, and you will forget your own troubles. We do not get crazy for the gospel only when we find it amazing. We know the gospel is our life so that we live in the gospel through praising God.

Finding the voice for the current era through my unique conditions of life

Do you have a Christian voice for this era? Both believers and non-believers need the gospel.

There are some who continually have something to say academically, but it might not be sentences that are constructed finely so that they can be used by God. Some voice out because Christian quotes makes the only belief softer. Some voice out because they hope that people may see that God’s word is all-relevant to all our lives. Some voice out because they want their lives to be meaningfully placed in God’s ultimate purpose. Some voice out because they understood and learnt something foundational and true to the gospel, and they want to make what they learn impressed on their hearts. Some voice out because it is what they experienced uniquely out from the valley of death and they hope their experiences can be of help to others. Some voice out so that there can be more variety and an encouragement of spiritual gifts for spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. But we should all move towards a direction of understanding the needs of the era, and voicing out for those gaps of needs.

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Christ for the building of His church. The church is Christ’s body. There is nothing wrong with the church since she is Christ’s body. But because the church is in the world, having the mystery of coexisting the faithful and the unfaithful, there is a mission for the church to continue ever-glowing. The evidence that proves the church as perfect, which is the body of Christ, is the unceasing prayers of a small group of people for the church within the church.

What is the English world of churches lacking right now? What is the Chinese world of churches lacking right now? Everyone has a different calling. Some are called to establish theological foundations. Some are called to preach what is spoken only in the bible and not deal with theology. Some are called to preach verse-by-verse bible expositions. Some are called to preach against the demise of morality of a nation and bear love out of it. Some are called to preach for raising a younger generation. But there is one calling that sees and knows what the current era of church is lacking and need our prayers and voices. That calling is found can only be found through “my own unique conditions of life”.

1. Finding the springs of only Christ’s Life

Jesus was born and raised up in less-than-good conditions, but He saw that He was loved by God from the very start. He has no hint of inferiority because He understood that His very own conditions were to reveal the real love and righteousness of God. True gold covered in mud would reveal more of its trueness through refinement and gold-plated mud would soon expose its fakeness. If the set of conditions you have compels you inevitably to go towards the Christ as the only answer, your set of conditions become honorable immediately, and at that moment, thanksgiving overflows. And at that very moment, your set of unchanged conditions make you confidently boast only about Christ as you understood the honorable reason of the existence of your conditions.

2. Enabling the mighty Word of God to take root in one’s life

Jesus was accused so badly, but He never felt accused in His heart because He knew what mighty word of God has come into His heart, and which can actually come in! How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? <Ro 10:14-15> “And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” It could not have happened unless the Holy Spirit has convicted me to believe and accept, thus allowing the mighty word of God (what Christ has accomplished and God’s eternal righteousness and love) to take root in my life.

3. Holy Spirit convicting the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment

Jesus knew He was in a world unfair, unrighteous and almost everyone wanted to kill, steal and destroy Him. He knew He is going to be deceived but He was able to lay His fears aside. Yet, He willingly allowed the Deceiver Satan to cause harm on Him so that every word of what is written about Him can be fulfilled. Why did He choose the path of submission? John 16:7 says, “Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you.” Are you willing to go through timetable after timetable of refinement in your life? Your conditions never change, and it seems foolish to continue being deceived in the world awaiting the second coming of Christ. But when you allow the Holy Spirit to come in to convict, heal, comfort, and teach, through God’s righteousness and love accomplished by Christ, He will gradually mould you to become a holy and powerful life. Only exciting new things of doors of evangelism await you.

There are many Christian voices in the world. Yet, many of them are researching God but never enjoying God. It is not the bible that we need to study. Rather, it is the message (in the Scriptures) that needs (to be preached in order) to study us. If you allow yourself to be studied by God’s word and the Holy Spirit in this current era of voices from churches around the world, your subjective experience will enable you to draw out an objective sword of God’s word that knows what to preach to this current generation / era / world.

Unlimited Freedom For Humility and Devotion

The whole point that the King of kings leads the whole history of mankind is to give a new birth to the power of humility and devotion to God. Humility and devotion can be recognized, but it cannot be emulated. The Spirit of humility and devotion can be found in Jesus setting exemplary examples on earth, progressing gradually towards the cross in submission, and reigning but yet co-working with His disciples even till now. It can also be found in Mary anointing Jesus with the most expensive perfume and wiped Jesus’ feet with her hair <John 12>. It was just 6 days before Jesus was to be lifted up and Satan, the ruler of the world, will be cast out. We are moving towards Good Friday, which comes in 6 days too.

If a true believer desires and really makes it a point to enter into serving, he grabs on to the promise that the privilege of serving will reward him with heavenly inheritance and blessings to his life. The promise of Jesus’ power is given to him. Yet, once he steps into serving, he will find as if that power is taken from him. Servitude requires faithfulness and continuance. It can continue because there is humility and devotion in Christ. In the whole nature of serving, the whole point is becoming like Jesus in humility and devotion. This has always been the traditional gospel from Abraham, till David, till Jesus, till the ministers with the Spirit of God. The white hairs, loss of hair, wrinkles that are lines of compassion and understanding are evidences from old pastors who serve in humility and devotion to Christ.

Humility and devotion are not just a matter of willingness. Why can a person continue to be faithful? Endurance cannot last, but finding the hand of God always helping lasts.

– Trying (religion) does not work, because it seeks for what it already knows, which is to say that there is already ignorance. The whole spiritual atmosphere has to be changed (gospel).

– Keeping on thinking whether one is worthy enough for God opens a loophole for where Satan can come in and accuse and take away your strength. The whole belief and lifestyle have to enter into God’s ultimate gospelization purpose for progressing the times and world.

– Waiting upon the time when sufferings are gone definitely does not work because the end of the deceived mind is just to get into a self-thought ideal world of no more spiritual battles. At your difficult period, God’s plan is to stretch your vessel.

– Following the need to keep to a schedule (immediately follow the flesh) after submitting just one time does not work too. You may be too impetuous, anxious and dependent on a feelings-based belief. Listening in to the instructions of the Holy Spirit will pave the way for step-by-step submission to His humility and devotion.

– Trying your best (or half-heartedness) to remember many promises in the head do not work too. You have forgotten about miracles testifying to God’s help happen when your serving is God-driven.

This was what happened to me when the serving gets tough. At first, I felt really hard to breathe. Then I learnt to give thanks for the privilege to serving. As I accept the challenge to serve more by stretching myself, I became aggressive and even saw quarrels as I reasoned out with God’s righteousness in me. But it just wasn’t the right spirit. God told me to be more gracious. Therefore I struggled and prayed. I remembered Jesus responding with healing an invalid even though he complained. The invalid was already lame for 38 years. It was not just a complaint. He really could see no hope at all. That is why Jesus healed him even though there is not a hint of faith in that invalid <John 5>, because the heart of the invalid had been made ready for 38 years. In the end, I knew God’s word for me; He wanted me to continue in serving faithfully. He says, “It is only at your busyness, yet knowing that it is the plan of God for you (four gospelizations), that you can learn to rely on the Holy Spirit, and learn the how-to in relying on Him.” That is really grace. When it came, the greater Spirit of humility and devotion came into me.

How can God come and help us? The following 3 stages or levels of understanding – which in fact is the Trinity – the Word of God, knowing Christ Himself, and reliance on the Holy Spirit are given so that we will go towards desiring, apprehending and embodying the source of all blessings, i.e. God Jehovah, so that humility and devotion are borne into and out from us.

1) Truth -> Promises

When the truth is out, we are set free from all forms of misunderstandings, deceptions and unneeded accusations.

John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Freedom is not doing whatever you want unbridled towards chaos, but being able to manage everything in the most orderly and controlled way.

God is alive. He loves you. Jesus died for you, and the Father has now bound Himself to give you only good things. There is another set of truths. You will die. You will live forever in the new heavens and new earth if you have a born again belief. For now, you are an exile on the earth. Nothing on earth is truly worth putting your hope in.

When the above becomes God’s personal promise to you, everything will start getting meaningful when you align in all your ways to God’s ultimate purpose in building His kingdom, exalting Christ and gathering all His children on earth. With that, you are promised with all forms of creativeness in serving Him as He has given you every kind of conditions without coincidence but with the purpose of blessing yourself, your family, the region, and all nations.

The truths of God have now become alive. However, they may be conditional to your state of spiritual life. E.g. If you have accusations in your heart, the promises may in fact become points that make you think you are far away from God because you just cannot experience or believe in the promises.

2) Christ -> Truly believe

Galatians 2:20 says “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

Realizing that righteousness is not from myself, but it is Christ’s righteousness that is now found in me because through His blood for me, I can now come to the throne of God any time. I do not come because I am better off, but I come because my life is no longer mine. This rids off of all accusations, inferiority and any feelings of sorrows you might have struggled to come stand before the Lord. “God has His plan for me even through my weaknesses” <Ro 8:28>. There can be sins that must have consequences, but Christ’s love cannot be abolished because of any imperfect behaviors.

God sees you as perfect. That is because of Jesus’ perfection, not yours. You deserve hell. Therefore, it makes you all the way understanding God’s immense and amazing grace on you. Your life, your expressions and your everything – you have no right to be unhappy.

Apprehending Christ makes one understand what identity he has.

<John 1:12, 13> “But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Taking Christ upon yourself, you are now starting to taste what is meant by the authority of God’s children. But it cannot just stay here. Christ went through death and resurrection in order to give transforming life to followers. He promised that with the gift of the Holy Spirit.

3) Holy Spirit -> Life and Lifestyle That Lives out and Testifies to the Spirit of Christ

<2Co 3:17> “Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”

The theologians from the 16th Century till now had suffered much in order to bring about the purity and completeness of God’s Word.

<Acts 2:17> “And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams”.

Those who believe Jesus in being crucified in the flesh and arisen already have the Holy Spirit. The baptism of the Holy Spirit comes at the same time you find out that the Holy Spirit is working in you all these while. All your conditions, all your timetable, from past till present, even into the future, are all the very conditions God has glorified and will be glorifying for His use. The Holy Spirit is co-working with you right now. No one can truly submit to the Lord. True submission comes from Holy Spirit working through us.

When your heart is turned to the Lord, the Spirit will reveal Himself to us. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will rely on the Holy Spirit’s comfort, instructions, and anointing, you yourself being His vessels or witnesses of His great work. Such knowledge and reliance on the Holy Spirit is unlimited.

How do I know if I am living on the edge of the Holy Spirit?

(1) You enjoy the Spirit of Son-ship

Many believers are un-assured of their lives. Their prayers are only asking the Lord for help without any confidence that their lives are blameless, accomplished by the blood of Christ. However, there are remnants that are like Noah even when the whole world has turned upon them. They are blameless because God looks at them as blameless.

<Ps 15:1-2>

O Lord, who shall sojourn in your tent? Who shall dwell on your holy hill?

He who walks blamelessly and does what is right and speaks truth in his heart;

<Ps 24:9-10>

Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory!”

(2) You receive and see promises: Emmanuel, protection, guidance, providence, and accomplishment

Some believers only receive fulfillments through prayers. However, those with the Spirit confirm promises through prayer fulfillments.

<Ps 18:32-37>

the God who equipped me with strength

and made my way blameless.

He made my feet like the feet of a deer

and set me secure on the heights.

He trains my hands for war,

so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

You have given me the shield of your salvation,

and your right hand supported me,

and your gentleness made me great.

You gave a wide place for my steps under me,

and my feet did not slip.

I pursued my enemies and overtook them,

and did not turn back till they were consumed.

(3) According to the promises received, the Spirit of promises burns and tells you to throw away your own motives, purpose, contents, and methods

<Ps 22:1>

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning?

<Ps 17:13-14>

Arise, O Lord! Confront him, subdue him!

Deliver my soul from the wicked by your sword,

from men by your hand, O Lord, from men of the world whose portion is in this life.

You fill their womb with treasure; they are satisfied with children, and they leave their abundance to their infants.

(4) Through the Holy Spirit, you can confirm that the Holy Spirit is pleased, is joyful and is praising you by seeing that He loves your thoughts, judgments and the words you speak to others

Believers nowadays do not really enjoy walking with God because they cannot see the support of the Lord with them. But in the midst of troubles and even in the imminent threat of death, David can see God treating David like an honored guest even amidst fiery attacks from enemies.

<Ps 23:5>

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;

You anoint my head with oil;

my cup overflows.”

(5) Prayer continues rhythmically and unceasingly in intimacy and depths of communion in the Spirit

May our prayers open up the spiritual ears to hear the word of God in all things, all places, and at all times.

<Ps 19:1-2, 6, 14>

He heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge

and there is nothing hidden from Its heat

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

Ministry expansion: the Lord looks at the heart

The start of a ministry is not an excited vision, but rather, a faithfulness. There is an undeniable fact that “People need the Lord”. Gradually, we see people being blessed. Is it not due to the Holy Spirit going forth to prove His blessings from the ministry people of faithfulness? When there is an undeniable conviction to live in the Lord, “faithfulness” becomes the start of a ministry. This is what started our church and all our ministries, even the pulpit ministry. We have gone through ups and downs, discouragements and all. Yet, through all these, the higher than men’s efforts of the Father’s sovereignty and glory can then be proven. Faithfulness is borne through humility.
The fruits of ministries make a cause for more leaders to stand out and progress the ministries. Leaders start to see the importance of the ministry. People start to reply and give thanks. These are the greatest fruits a ministry can have. Ministries expand because there are still a lot of content in Christ’s accomplishments to bring forth. Through tweets, facebook and blog posts, people would like to express their thanksgiving and what they have received from the Lord. But it is not about doing more ministries. It is about bringing the essence of the gospel message out to the world. The ministries move to the next level of bringing people into the main content of the gospel message. Through hymns, short snippets of the pulpit message, artwork, etc, the ministry aims to captivate and bridge people to the gospel that it thinks have been dearly missed. Thankfully, God does not really work by a spark of fire in people’s hearts. Rather, God’s timetable waits till there is a team to see the need and the importance of the ministry. Fathfulness first, but a personal experience of the edification of the gospel message puts burdens into the hearts of men to push ministries to the next level. It is not really about counting more numbers of people receiving grace, but a natural response of the Great Commission to get the message out to as many people as possible.
The expansion of ministries on more levels will be judged by the Lord. Wisdom from the heart is required to test and approve. Getting the message out is one thing, but the quality of it is another. While men looks at the outward appearance, God looks at the heart. It is not just faithfulness and understanding the importance of a ministry that makes it move and be pleased by God. Can a short tweet work? Can even a 5 minute hymn presentation that is practiced with at least 7 hours work? It is now about facing the Lord. Is whatever I do reliant on the Holy Spirit work in me? Disciples will be slowly found here and the great joy of a ministry starts to appear.
On the next level, something has to be recognized. The ministry has to set people apart at this time. Where is the ministry going towards? The messages are there to find hidden disciples. There is a difference between just thanking for a message that really helps, and having a life that is turned to God. True disciples want more. They want something that really helps them walk with God day-by-day. The ministry has to set apart followers. Captivating ministries have to go to the classroom. The messages need to be longer. Bridging is the first step, but without spending time before God, no amount of Holy Spirit’s convictions will make a person understand and follow God.
No amount of ministry from a local church can compare when another church is planted. This cannot be left as an option. Ministry has to go all the way. The gospel is a good news, and it has to go all the way, uncompromised, to commitments in planting churches, if it really the gospel that rises people out of hell. The ministries that can happen are not only double-fold, but on a scary level of expansion. Ministries have to go towards setting up a church. Then disciples can be protected by living in that environment to continue receiving perspective training. The local church that is planted, when it is ready, does not need to totally go from scratch again because it can rely on the present ministries of the parent church. But the spiritual gifts and anointing of that local church planted will be vastly different so that it complements to a much greater extent than the parent church will have if she has double her congregation numbers. Connectors and teachers have to rise up; literature and various forms of training ministries for establishing the foundations and essence of the gospel in its purest form have to take precedence.
Gradually, a seminary is required to train leaders of various local churches. Christian ideologies have to be studied and established.
Why do I write this post? It comes when I try to think about where the internet and media distribution ministry should move for all the experiences given by my church so far, ministries inward and outreach. Is it by doing more? It is both less and yet more. The Holy Spirit speaks to me that even though creativity is important, it can never take the place of a heart that truly loves to spend time quieting down to face the Spirit in all situations. The heart that loves God’s word moves a ministry beyond any human capacity. Faithfulness, having burden, seeking for wisdom, setting apart, uncompromised pureness/devotion and establishment are more important than a surface elaboration and expansion of a ministry.

My Jesus Satisfies

Drafted 2012-10-25

Hell and destruction are never satisfied, and the lust of the eyes, flesh and boast of the world never satisfy their hunger for us.

Pro 30:15-16 puts this in the best of words, saying

The leech has two daughters— Give and Give!
There are three things that are never satisfied, Four never say, “Enough!”:
The grave,
The barren womb,
The earth that is not satisfied with water—
And the fire never says, “Enough!”

Death/Hell is never satisfied. Emptiness wants even more evil. Our human ways always loves the wine and merry-making of the world. And the desires of our flesh never finish burning!

Of course these things happen to us when we accidentally fell. But what happens when you do not seek for anything in the world any more? What happens when we know it in our hearts that we really do not have any desires for these anymore that the world keeps on racing to get? By centering on brethrens, going through confirming that all conditions given to us are the best, especially the more difficult relationships of those around us, we may have gone through many roads of the cross. We have born our own cross for some time, so that when we look back, our hearts have died to the things of the world. Even when we fall, we know we just need God more by coming to Him as children of God, receiving the power of repentance, and renewing ourselves. But what happens when we have died?

A small voice comes. As in <Matthew 16>, The Spirit of Christ says, “Who do you say I am?” As in <John 21>, “Do you love (agape) me?” Do you take it with your utmost joy when we respond to the Lord, “Feed My lambs”? I cried when I heard this. (<John 21> never fails to convict me over and over again.) What about you? We may need Jesus and hunger for Him because we have problems. Once the problems are solved, we may need Jesus because we want to see His Word imprinted on us to give us the promise that the world cannot give us. We may want to follow Jesus because we want to view everything in His covenanted perspective because the pulling power of the world is just so strong. When we see that we long for Jesus, the Spirit in us comforts us that we are drawn to Him, that in our true self, we actually love Him. When the seal upon us has begun sealing us a second time, so that we cannot deny but lose our lives for our families and those around us because we have prayed for them and they are God-given to us, we go through sufferings to battle through understanding that the Lord is pleased with us. We know, but do we really love Jesus? When we have time to spare, do we want to read the bible and go into the realms of prayers? When we are tired, do we go to the Lord to be filled with strength? When we are tempted, do we run to Him, not because we are pitiful, but because we want to be found in His love? When God tells us to prepare messages to lead small groups and messages, do we love to go into receiving insights of His word? Are you in a state so that you cannot live without Jesus, or are you in a state of enjoying everything Jesus planned just because He lives? Do you like Jesus?

At our state, we may say “Lord, I love you”, but really, as a friend. How can I love You as You have loved me unconditionally? But the Word of God always talks about unconditional love to God and to brethrens. It is found throughout the whole New Testament Bible. The reality of weaknesses (Satan’s great lie) and the reality of people’s self-righteousness (She eats and wipes her mouth, and says, “I have done no wickedness.”), the true face of Satan – have we not seen and thus be greatly thankful to the Lord for His deliverance so that we may become sons of God?

To love God because He has given us salvation – this is the greatest love. To love God because He has directed my paths to eternal inheritance to the ends of the earth – this is the greatest love. To love God because He sets me free by giving me the Holy Spirit. To love because I am provided with the best conditions everywhere I go – this is His love. To love because I am sanctified to be purer – this is His love. To love because He gave me fruits of brethren relationships that last – this is His love. Fill this in, you little man. All these are unconditional. Without the love of God, can you love Him? Agur said,

“Surely I am more stupid than any man, And do not have the understanding of a man. I neither learned wisdom. Nor have knowledge of the Holy One.” <Proverbs 31:2-3>

This is the start of understanding. This is the start of you grasping further about the Love of God. This is the start of you being able to agape love God.

One or two times of saying “I love Jesus” is easy. But can you be continually satisfied of His love? This is the mystery of prayers. The natural reaction of loving God is communicating deeper and more lovingly than before. More than continuous prayers, it is about scheduled prayers. Scheduled prayers are about “not forgetting His loving unconditional words of accomplishments”, let His perfect will renew your mind and thus transform your heart to love Him from a phileo friendship love to an agape unconditional love.

1) Give the right words of life:

Praying to my Lord, my God, I am Your son. All my life, my everydays are in Your hands of holding to the ends of the earth. May Your kingdom not pass but come into the depths of my spirit. I seek Your concrete plans for each thing I do, for You have already purposed in all things for my heart. For all that I need daily, open my eyes to see spiritual insights, wisdom, health, necessities, and testimonies. Let “love and submission” become the standard of whether I have sinned. Allow me the power of repentance. Expand loving relationships with all around me. Bring them out of their problems to see You clearer. May You abolish away all evil and temptations because I want to remain in You. Because I just want Your glory to be filled all around me.

2) Receive the gentle and upright Spirit:

Waiting upon His living response to us, His convictions reaches my heart. Your love and grace follows me. At each moment, I can feel the Spirit supporting me. Strength, love, self-control, peace, joy and freedom appear in my heart. A natural desire to praise Jesus all the days of my life praising enters. Satisfied upon being satisfied, seal upon seal, submission, continuous prayers, turn of timetable, strengthening the battle in the heart no matter what, it all comes in the heart. The heart receives a heart of a big courageous man, driving away all that is fake.

All the days of my life, Lord, I want to die to the prince of the air, be totally satisfied in burying myself in Your unconditional love for me, and make a love story movie between You and I before the end of days.

God’s Opposite Meaning Through His Strong Emphasis

Drafted since 2012-09-14

Not many parents have known the heart of God the Father on what to give to their children. Because parents want their children to have the best, they keep trying to give the best of everything to them in whatever they know. But the Father God wants His children to have the best; therefore, He takes away everything from His children.

The earthly parent gives everything as a hope that the child can be everything. But God the Father hopes the child can be everything, that’s why He plans what to take away at according to the best times and season. Ask yourself, what do you really want for your children? Is it not full health in the spirit, soul and body? God the Father does not first want His children to live to glorify Him first, but His heart as a Father wants His children to be in full health of spirit, soul and body.

The best model of a father to a child of God is how God the Father treats God the Son, Jesus Christ. God takes away the royalty of the heavenly throne from Jesus, and make Him live among humanity. In fact, 30 years of servant hood of humanity, and 3.5 years of servant hood to the church. God takes away Jesus’ life, through sufferings and death, so that He can resurrect with all men to bow down before Him on bended knees. Through that, the Holy Spirit came to all the adopted children of God, whom Jesus is most willing to call them His own brothers / siblings.

=> Think deeper of what is meant by a child of God. What does God want to give you and thus take away from you? Is it prosperity? Is it sufferings? God wants to take away yourself, give His Holy Spirit to you.

The bible also gave us another identity, and this is the bride of Christ. Nothing pleases Christ more than to submit to Him. Christ died for us for the greatest love of all; therefore, as a bride of Christ, He does not want us to die for Him; He wants us to follow Him. If He is going to die, we follow Him to deny ourselves and die with Him. If He is going to be buried, we follow Him to bury all our past hurts and relationships until He makes known the perfect will of why He planned everything. If He is going to be resurrected, we follow Him out of our sorrows and stand up again. If you follow Him as close as you can, doing more of what you think you can do, He is going to be pleased. If it is your greatest happiness to follow Your eternal husband by listening intently to His words that are full of love and kingly righteousness, He is going to be touched. If you get His Spirit by not only following Him but by trying to understand whatever path He is walking on, asking you to walk the same, He is going to entrust every of His possessions to you so that He can go forth and conquer the seas till the ends of the world.

=> Think deeper of what is meant by a bride of Christ, covenanted to you for life.

When you cannot think deeper, God shouts on top of His voice to hurry you when you are laid back thinking being discouraged and in disbelief; He also whispers to pause you in your busy life, focusing on only your feelings. In everything that you face in your life, there is a paradoxical emphasis that God wants to bring out of your life. God is a God of emphasis. But He emphasizes not to want you to do just what He emphasizes, but He wants you to turn to Him and know deep into His heart. It is to bring us out from a disbelieving Christian belief that God speaks by emphasis and in parables.

1. God predestines and is in charge of all things

No matter what we do, we cannot override what He has planned. He will still accomplish no matter how Satan, angels or men try to interfere. There is no weakness that God cannot fulfill unconditionally. There is no love God cannot change the heart. There is a spiritual reason behind everything of what God wants to emphasize to turn people to Him, not to solve matters on earth. By turning to God, the perfect will of the Lord will be revealed.

Therefore, shall we live as we desire? Such person is to be condemned, who act like a ruler or authoritarian. This is not being understood by those called servants of God, who has a Lord in their life.

There are stories in the bible where the choices of people seem to pave the way for God to work in the gospel. Jacob deceiving his brother Esau to earn his birthright, Tamar seducing Judah to give birth to seed of Jesus Christ, God binding Israel’s disobedience so that He might have mercy on Israel, etc. It only means that God will accomplish no matter what. But it also means that if let’s say, Jacob and Rebekah had not deceived Isaac, Esau might just be killed in finding hunt for his father. God’s predestination cannot be overridden.

It only means that God is with us, and that if He protects those He loves as His children, He has already given us every single word of God and Holy Spirit at our timetable. Therefore, the meaning of predestination means that it is totally our responsibility of free choice and will to make decisions based on His already provided guidance through His Word and Holy Spirit. Accomplishments always come, and the important matter is God’s providence; how well you perform in God’s predestination is secondary. The emphasis is not on how you perform in measures of rights and wrongs, and not on how you just leave everything to nature as if you think that there is nothing you can do right now in your timetable.

God emphasizes on your continual submission to God for accomplishments. God wants you to think of the reason why you always cannot restore the blessed thoughts and lifestyle. That reason is simply submission.

=> Every moment the Holy Spirit comes upon you, your family and all nations are blessed through you. God is doing it, not you. Therefore, God’s sovereignty means how you come to seek His perfect will to manage all your belief system and lifestyle system by all that He has already given.

2. No matter how weak you are, God still wants to bless your family and all nations through you

This is not only a comfort. God is still working, and He is working with all hosts of angels in all universal churches in all chronicles of era, even right now. How can a person’s piety and moral ethics overcome a person who has the Lord, the mystery of Old Testament and New Testament, with all these angels working in him? This is how we know that God has chosen and called a person! It is because that person has understood the gospel message as revealed by the whole bible, spiritual world and the history of mankind. Are we not such people who have such understanding in us? In this person, there is a prophetic, priestly and kingly authority. It is not that you are God’s free or casual love, but if Christ has so come into your life (the gospel has gone in), Christ is the One in your life which is the Prophet, Priest and King, not you.

Yet, if anyone thinks that God loves everyone, or must be caring for you in all that you desire and hope for, so that he thinks, speaks and lives as if everyone should respect him since he is a child of God, so that he becomes proud (if this is ever possible), he is to be condemned. That is a heart of a hire or an employee, not a heart of an heir.

It only means that you are called to bless your wife, children, siblings, brethrens and relatives. It only means that you are called to bless your neighbors, colleagues and friends. Don’t try to make more friends, or be sad by why not many people love you. Why have many valueless friends or worldly friends, who cannot humble down before the gospel (that is in your heart)? Be more in sorrow if you cannot be a friend that has the gospel; be more in sorrow if those loving you are not because of the gospel you have. To emphasize this in a greater measure, if you are filled with the Holy Spirit and see your loved ones not humbling but being against God’s sovereignty and calling, your spirit will curse them, even though you hope to bless them by human terms.

It only means that since the Holy Spirit’s convictions, instructions and anointing are in me, then why do you not believe that by these Holy Spirit’s convictions, instructions and anointing on me, I still do not believe in prayers that shall surely fulfill 100% for all my family and contact network? Therefore, the emphasis is not on being noble enough to be able to glorify God in all things, and not blaming on your family, brethrens and contact networks that they are not blessed at all. God emphasizes that He has given you the authority of an ambassador to bring to them a totally Christ-centered culture from the Holy Spirit already given you.

So what are the evidences we should be looking for that the people we bless are getting more and more blessed? Be peaceful and have all answers in life. Yes, but in this world, there are really people who specializes in how to take care of children, and their children really grows to be fine ones. There are people who specialize in how to earn money, and they really earn much because they research into stocks and the flow of money. There are also people who research on abundant yet hidden nutrients found in nature, and their research can really make people avoid cancer and make them live longer. Yet, when we go this path, the Holy Spirit in the core message of the gospel diminishes, and all of us Christians should already be in poverty, be out of health and fail all exams by the 4 meetings we try to preserve our spirits for. The God-driven way of managing health, family, children and finance are totally different from how the world manages health, family, children and finance. When the Holy Spirit is in you, He gives instructions on when to endure, when to fight, when to rest, when to wait, when to hope in your loved ones and in your own health and finance. This is our way of managing health, family, children, finance and time. This evidence is not external, but inside your spirit, that can be seen by all men.

=> Every moment the Holy Spirit comes upon your family and all nations, they will understand and turn to the Lord. God is doing it through you, not other people or when you are nobler. Therefore, God’s sovereignty in choosing means He has given you a right to pray and angels work 100% by the prayers of saints. Every of your relationships can be protected by His perfect will and by His ways.

3. Amidst the whole process, God’s special emphasis is on the born leadership in you found in Christ

The spiritual blessing God has already given us is in the heavenly rain that He provides and in the fertile lands He provides. Everything has already been provided for you. You just use it to serve the Lord. There are more ahead. When you rely on the springs of life to come out first, then the streams, rivers, and great seas will gush out. It does not happen when you do not submit to the very conditions God has been with you and given you. It is only by this principle that a Christian’s blessedness and success continue to come.

If anyone thinks that by being earnest as much as he can, being a hardworking person or giving whatever he can afford with his busy schedule to the church, and he receives peace thinking that God will return favor, he is to be condemned. That is not the spirit of a pure, simple, lovely, innocent, cherubic child of God, who leaves every care to his Father in heaven, but of a slave.

The promotional success of Christian leadership is not found in hard work or earnestness, but in blessed meetings God determines to give. This blessed meeting is very important. The blessed meetings met by Joseph to Potiphar, chief cup bearer, and Pharoah, and even the blessed meetings met by Joseph’s brothers who betrayed him, of especially Judah, and even Potiphar’s wife, all are planned by God to promote Joseph. Do you believe that God has given everything to you already? Do you believe that He gives every blessing on time? Your successes and children’s maturity are planned by God’s special meetings.

No! You are already the most successful if you are already serving a church that is doing world gospelization work, or a work that goes into the core gospel message that the world does not know. It is already accomplished, don’t wait for it.

God emphasizes that you be faithful in things God has given to you right now to the fullest. Be responsible in the stewardship of God. Do not try to save God’s face or give God His honor, but build your lifetime according to this truth.

=> Every moment the Holy Spirit comes upon your hands, your leadership starts to build. God is doing it through your true belief of His presence in your conditions and how you can cowork with brethrens for life. Therefore, God’s sovereignty in calling you means He has already provided you the world to build your skillful hands.

May we only give this core message of the gospel to all peoples. May we only seek the zealousness of God to follow Him zealously all the way. May our descendants get this spirit and pass it on.

Relying on the Truth (Part 5) – Relying on the Spirit That Desires To Be “Normal, Daily, Always”

Drafted since 2012-06-17

The truth is that you know that you have understood the Holy Spirit, when it has appeared in your hearts and mouths, hands and legs. i.e. When the Holy Spirit has worked through your life, you know that the demons are driven away, and the kingdom of God has descended. Of course, the Lord understands our faith level – what we can do and what we cannot do. Yet, you must understand that the human nature is very, very prone to idleness and needing endless comfort. There can be no healing if the heart continues to only want comfort or the blessings of God. When Israelites groaned to God about hardships faced through the 10 plagues, Moses told them to focus on the promise. When Israelites groaned when they need to face the Red Sea, Moses just replied with grace, that the Lord was about to deliver. When Israelites grumbled again when meeting bitter water at Marah, the Lord knew it was the timetable to set truths before them, so that they can be healed. The 10 commandments and all the laws, decrees and statutes were in fact a gospel covenant to the Israelites because God wanted to heal them from their spirits.

God can understand our conditions, but if we keep on looking to God to “ask God to help us”, staleness will come into our lives, and we can never look to “see how God is actually healing and helping us all the time” in the process. In other words, we have to be sensitive there might be something “better” if we go back to the original principle of God, i.e. what is “normal, often and daily” in the eyes of believers and non-believers. It might be a new timetable for you to start praying for a new lifestyle so that your conditions become more normal / blessed so that people (believers and non-believers) can easier receive the understanding about the God Who is loving, joyful, peaceful, enduring, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and having self-control.

In other words, in our walk with Christ, all our problems can be said as “being not submissive”. This is a hard phrase for many. But when I meditate on this recently again, when I humble down and see the problem of the era of churches being “cannot believe and follow”, there is a grievous hatred within me to want to let all the “members of my body” to obey Christ. This is the repentance back to the root of all things that God has originally blessed us in <Ge 1:27,28>.

The person who knows this will know how to hold his tongue as a prayer to rely on the Holy Spirit, drive demons and allow the kingdom of God to descend. What this means is the blessed Christian culture that has no holdbacks to saying “Amen” and relying on blessing people. When you meet people that you have not met before, are you someone who is slow to warm so that you cannot warmly welcome him or her in the name of Christ? That is a spiritual problem itself. Yet, are you able to do so because you are an extrovert? You need to find back your reasons of what is meant by relying on the truth and not by any human conditions.

Let me show you three things that Boaz is doing to rely on the Emmanuel Culture (God is with us always every where, letting people get an understanding that God is with them also in Spirit and in Truth).

1) Everywhere Boaz went, he said, “The Lord be with you!”, and the Emmanuel Culture was present then so that everyone called back “The Lord bless you!” May our words only be filled with peace and fruitful blessings!

Ruth 2:4 Just then Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters, “The Lord be with you! ”

“The Lord bless you! ” they called back.

2) Every people Boaz met, even if it is a stranger / Gentile / non-believer, he was considerate for them. In the camp, our pastor told us to wipe off the toilet seat after using so that our roommate can see Emmanuel clearer. May all our actions of proactive consideration and initiative bring peace and fruitful blessings to the people beside!

Ruth 2:9, 15-16

9 Watch the field where the men are harvesting, and follow along after the girls. I have told the men not to touch you. And whenever you are thirsty, go and get a drink from the water jars the men have filled.”

15 As she got up to glean, Boaz gave orders to his men, “Even if she gathers among the sheaves, don’t embarrass her. 16 Rather, pull out some stalks for her from the bundles and leave them for her to pick up, and don’t rebuke her.”

3) Up till now, it is all just words and only commands to his servants to make peace and bless others. However, there is nothing impossible with Boaz as he is willing to lay his life for his kinsmen Naomi and family, even if they are poor <Ruth 3:10-13>, i.e. he will do all that Ruth asks. He went and put himself under the law of kinsman, and used his own money and his own life, even if it might endanger his own estate <Ruth 4:6>, to give a descendant to Naomi and Ruth. Boaz became Naomi’s kinsman-redeemer by giving his most important life away, which is his seed, to Ruth. In all our words and actions, may we never say that we cannot do this or that if the pastor asks you to help him in certain tasks for the good of the church (of course, there is room for discussion, but every leader would love to hear ‘I will do it’, or ‘I will try my best’).

Ruth 3:10-13

10 “The Lord bless you, my daughter,” he replied. “This kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier: You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor. 11 And now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of noble character. 12 Although it is true that I am near of kin, there is a kinsman-redeemer nearer than I. 13 Stay here for the night, and in the morning if he wants to redeem, good; let him redeem. But if he is not willing, as surely as the Lord lives I will do it. Lie here until morning.”

Ruth 4:9-12

9 Then Boaz announced to the elders and all the people, “Today you are witnesses that I have bought from Naomi all the property of Elimelech, Kilion and Mahlon. 10 I have also acquired Ruth the Moabitess, Mahlon’s widow, as my wife, in order to maintain the name of the dead with his property, so that his name will not disappear from among his family or from the town records. Today you are witnesses! ”

11 Then the elders and all those at the gate said, “We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the house of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem. 12 Through the offspring the Lord gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah.”

Our problem is not any other, but that we have not believed and submitted to God. These are spiritual words of relying on the truth of Emmanuel. May our words and actions never say “Lord, You know I cannot”, but may we be filled with love, so that our words and actions make peace and fruitful blessings to even bless the Lord saying “Lord, I know You can do all things through me who knows I cannot do anything without You.”

Living in the already victorious Emmanuel, God made King David to be born under the genealogy of Naomi and Ruth, and God will make the same disciples and descendants out if we rely on an Emmanuel Culture to live each and every moment!
